Before I decide if I sign up or not, can someone enlighten me? Signing up is free but being a member is $100 a year? How does it work exactly?

Signing up puts you on a waiting list currently, even if you were referred. Becoming a member for $100 gets you immediate access. My limited understanding is that paying for a memberships gets you (and up to 200 of your friends/family) immediate access, so you’re paying to bypass the wait list. Based on that mechanism, I also figure it will be free if you wait.
